Camila Fernandez INSIGHTS Facilitator
Biography
Camila Fernandez, PhD, brings nearly two decades of experience at the intersection of research and practice, with expertise in the design, implementation, and evaluation of psychosocial initiatives focused on family strengthening, early childhood development and education, and mental health. She has collaborated on impact evaluations and strategic learning efforts, providing technical guidance on implementation, measurement, and data quality to governments, NGOs, foundations, and local partners in low-resource international settings. She now integrates this background into her clinical mental health counseling work, offering a distinctive combination of evidence-based insight and therapeutic support to children, adolescents, and their families. More recently, Camila has partnered with Dr. Eileen Rodriguez Bandel and Dr. Sandee McClowry to translate and culturally adapt the INSIGHTS’ lesson materials (including videos, interactive activities, and handouts) for Spanish-speaking parents and caregivers. The adapted parenting program is called, “Nuevas Perspectivas Sobre el Temperamento de los Niños.”
Camila holds a Ph.D. in developmental psychology from New York University and is currently completing supervised pre-licensure clinical requirements toward her LMHC credential.
