Biography

Peter Linz, a seasoned Muppet performer with 31 seasons on Sesame Street, has brought numerous characters to life, including Herry Monster, Ernie, and the original, Oscar-winning, Walter. As one of the six core Disney Muppet Performers, he has contributed to films like The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted, and Muppets From Space, as well as in other films including Men in Black, Pet Sematary 2, and the 2005 remake of The Producers. Linz is an original Broadway cast member of the Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q, and has an extensive television portfolio, appearing on shows including Bear in the Big Blue House, 30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Lomax – The Hound of Music, Blue’s Room, The Book of Pooh, Between the Lions, It’s A Big Big World, Puzzle Place, Word World, the ABC primetime sitcom, The Muppets, plus multiple appearances on Saturday Night Live, and various daytime and late-night talk shows. He has led auditions and created workshops in television and film puppetry for international co-productions of Sesame Street in Germany, Mexico, China, and Jordan – and continues to do so independently in the United States and New Zealand. Linz’s latest character, Clyde the Cloud, can be seen on PBS in Donkey Hodie, and he recently wrapped up production on Disney Plus’s The Muppets Mayhem, where he plays Lips in the iconic Muppet Show house band, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.
