Program Developer: Sandee McClowry
Sandee McClowry, PhD, RN, FAAN is a professor in the Counseling Psychology and Teaching & Learning Departments at New York University. Dr. McClowry received her doctorate in family nursing theory from the University of California, San Francisco. She is the developer of INSIGHTS into Children’s Temperament and was the principal investigator of three clinical trials that tested its efficacy. The funding for the studies came from the Institute of Education Sciences and the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. McClowry has published extensively on her research in a variety of multidisciplinary journals. She is the author of Temperament-Based Elementary Classroom Management and Your Child’s Unique Temperament. In 2013-14, she was a Fulbright Scholar in Jamaica during which she set up the infrastructure to disseminate INSIGHTS in Jamaica. She is currently working with rural Appalachia and rural Nebraska to adapt the program to meet the needs of their communities.
