INSIGHTS in Nebraska is a comprehensive social and emotional learning intervention that includes parent, teacher and classroom components that has been found to reduce disruptive behavior, improve attention skills, and improve reading and math achievement.
This INSIGHTS intervention is unique because the research is being conducted in rural communities.
Connecticut
Jamaica
INSIGHTS is in more than 20 schools in Jamaica! The INSIGHTS in Jamaica Centre is housed at the University of the West Indies, Mona. The INSIGHTS Centre, funded by the Jamaican CHASE Fund, trains facilitators to conduct the intervention in rural and urban schools.
Appalachia
Pictured here are team leaders Drs. Sandra Gagnon and Timothy Huelsman with the INSIGHTS Appalachia State University Team! They have begun the INSIGHTS teacher program in rural Appalachian pre-K classrooms. Preliminary reports suggest that the teachers are enjoying the program and immediately applying the strategies in their classrooms.
